INDUSTRIAL CONTINUATION OF THE 1999 CHALLENGE
The aim is to know if the company or institution that submitted a challenge subject had its expectations and requirements fulfilled, that is to say the research results had an impact, massive or relative, within the company.
INFORMATIONSThere was no direct impact, but the indirect impacts can be divided in two categories:
- about the stock management problem, a massive rebuilding process of the information system (ERP) was put in place, starting in 1999. We can say that this study led to a deeper thought about the planification and optimization process of the equipment turnover.
- about the optimization technologies, the Roadef challenge underlined, with the european research project Chic-2, the need for an enrichment of the elab technologies, culturally very PPC-oriented. Thus, it was enriched with other technologies such as lagrangian relaxation, local search (cf. local server) and their hybridation.
