Phd Thesis on stochastic optimization for production planning

A PhD position is available at the IMT-Atlantique. The goal of the thesis will be to develop tools for production planning and scheduling that consider uncertain parameters (demand, lead times, processing time) and the available recourses to react to unforeseen events (outsourcing, temporary workers, express deliveries, …). The proposed tools will improve the agility manufacturers, and they will allow to make fast reactive decisions while minimizing the production costs.
The PhD candidate will be supervised by Alexandre Dolgui (IMT-Atlantique), Yossiri Adulyasak (HEC Montréal) and Simon Thevenin (IMT-Atlantique). The PhD student will be partly located on the Campus Nantes, and in Montréal.
The position is for three years starting in October, but a late start is possible.
Applicants must have a Master degree (or equivalent) in Computer Sciences, Applied Mathematics or any related discipline. Applicants should demonstrate good programming skills and a good knowledge in operation research (mathematical programming, stochastic optimization, metaheuristics…)
Please send your application by mail to simon.thevenin@imt-atlantique.fr including a detailed curriculum vitae and examination results, plus, if available, a Master thesis, and recommendation letters.
Good candidates will be selected on a first-come basis. It is thus recommended to apply as early as possible, even in case of late availability.
