CHAIR OF MATHEMATICAL OPTIMISATION
School of Mathematics
The University of Birmingham


The University wishes to appoint a Chair of Mathematical Optimisation.
The holder of this post will be expected to play a leading role in
this area in Birmingham in the years ahead. The successful candidate
will be of mathematical distinction, able to offer leadership in
research, teaching and academic policy-making in the Management
Mathematics Group. Applicants should have an outstanding research
track record and international research profile in Mathematical
Optimisation and proven ability to win peer-reviewed funding from
multiple sources. We particularly welcome applications from
individuals whose research interests can be integrated with existing
research at Birmingham. This includes discrete optimisation, nonlinear
optimisation and multicriteria optimisation, but successful applicants
may work in any area of Mathematical Optimisation. Salary is
negotiable.

The post will be supported by a postdoctoral research fellow position.
