Thematic Session 'e-Marketplaces challenges f
Forum 'Annonces' - Sujet créé le 2005-10-06
Organizers: Lyès BENYOUCEF and Kameshwaran SAMPATH
Associated Topic to the Conference: e-Supply Chains
Abstract: The global economy and the advent of Internet technologies have significantly modified the business organization of enterprises and the way of doing business. New forms of organizations such as extended enterprises and virtual enterprises appeared and are quickly adopted by most leading enterprises. It is more and more noticed that "Competition in the future will not be between individual organizations but between competing supply chains". Supply chain includes the transition and transportation of material from raw form through several stages of procuring, manufacturing, assembly, distribution and selling to a finished product delivered to final customer. In addition to the material flow, it includes the flow of information and finance. In the recent years, Internet has changed the way these businesses are conducted using auction theory and web technologies. This is evident from the trillions of dollars a year business-to-business transactions being conducted on the Internet across several procurement and logistics e-marketplaces. With the wide-ranging types of goods traded across the Internet, researchers in academics and companies are coming up with innovative market algorithms and bid analysis techniques that cater application specific and generic needs. This session is devoted to the e-marketplaces for several supply chain business processes including procurement and logistics. Original research papers from academicians and researchers are invited in the following areas:
• Auction Formats and Bidding Languages:
Multiattribute auctions, Multicriteria auctions, Discount, and Combinatorial auctions
• Winner Determination and Bid Evaluation:
Formulations and Solution Techniques
• Decision Support for Bid preparation and evaluation
• Industrial Case Studies and Success Stories
