Special track: Advances in optimization for vehicle routing problems
Track chairs:
Prof. Christian Prins, LOSI, University of Technology of Troyes (UTT), France
Prof. Kenneth Sörensen, Faculty of Applied Economics, University of Antwerp, Belgium
Track description:
Optimization for vehicle routing has attracted more and more researchers in the last five decades, because of the numerous applications in transportation and in the design of distribution systems. A recent trend is to study "rich vehicle routing problems", characterized by a large size, many complex constraints, multi-period horizons etc. These problems are closer to reality but very challenging, since they combine several classical academic problems. The aim of this track is to gather the most recent solution methodologies to tackle such problems, via three sessions:
Session 1: Metaheuristics for vehicle routing problems
Chair: Dr. Nacima Labadi. Topics: Tabu search, genetic algorithms, scatter search etc.
Session 2: Exact methods for vehicle routing problems
Chair: Dr. Murat Afsar. Topics: Branch-and-bound, branch-and-cut, column generation etc.
Session 3: Cooperative approaches for vehicle routing problems (matheuristics)
Chair: Dr. Caroline Prodhon. Topics: Hybridization of exact and heuristic methods.
Contacts: christian.prins@utt.fr, kenneth.sorensen@ua.ac.be, nacima.labadi@utt.fr, murat.afsar@utt.fr, caroline.prodhon@utt.fr
Important Dates
* Full Paper Submission: October 31st 2010
* Notification of Acceptance: January 31st 2011
* Final Paper Submission: February 28th 2011
