The Grado Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech
is seeking dynamic, energetic colleagues to participate in our strong
programs of research, scholarship, and teaching. We seek outstanding
individuals to help lead our instructional and research efforts in (1)
mathematical optimization and (2) simulation analysis.
For the optimization position, we particularly seek individuals with
expertise in the theory and methodology of optimization. Appointments at all
ranks will be considered. For particularly well-established Full Professor
candidates, an Endowed Professorship may be available. For the simulation
position, we particularly seek individuals with expertise in simulation
methodology such as simulation optimization or stochastic optimization.
Appointments at the ranks of Assistant and Associate Professor will be
considered.
Applicants should have achieved, or show potential to develop, a strong
program of externally funded research and scholarship. The position
requires a Ph.D. degree, with at least one degree in industrial engineering
or a closely related field. We are seeking candidates with exceptional
potential for leadership in research and education, and strong commitment to
high quality research. The successful applicant will also be expected to
provide skilled teaching of foundational and advanced courses at both the
undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates for Associate or Full
Professor should have a strong record of research leadership, publications,
and external funding.
