PostDoc position (6 months) at LMAH-University of Le Havre on Electric Vehicle Route Planning

Forum 'Emplois' - Sujet créé le 2016-02-23

In the framework of the multi-partner project GREEN TRUCK funded by the Haute-Normandie Region a postdoctoral position is open for a period of 6 months at the LMAH laboratory of Applied Mathematics of the University of Le Havre on the topics of Electric Vehicle Route Planning (from March 2016).

The postdoc will contribute to our goal of developing optimization tools for Electric Vehicle Routing Problem and charging infrastructure network design problem. In particular, in this project, we are interested in the joint scheduling and optimal charging of electric vehicles problem. We plan to test wireless electric vehicle charging via induction. Some research issues arise such as the optimal location of charging stations. The result of the optimisation will be validated by simulation. On the other hand, simulation will allow users to examine various scenarios.

The daily vehicles trips will be between their warehouses and the port of Le Havre. Electric vehicles will be deployed to provide the last mile delivery of goods from the warehouses to maritime containers terminal. The last mile plays a crucial role in the supply chain. Currently, transportation routes are performed by combustion engine vehicles. The project aims to prove that inductive charging of Electric Vehicles is a cost-effective alternative to diesel fuel, offering major savings and lower CO2 emissions.

The project leader is the GPMH (Port of Le Havre Authority). Other partners are the NIMEC and the GREAH laboratories of the university of Le Havre, Transports Duboc enterprise and the LITIS laboratory of the university of Rouen
