Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in Operations Research
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research fellowship in the College of Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. The initial one-year appointment will begin September 1, 2014 or shortly thereafter (start date somewhat flexible) and may be extended contingent upon research performance. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency on practical research that will include applying operations research methods to help the Agency improve service delivery and patient care. This position will involve developing real solutions to real problems rather that purely theoretical research. Participation in grant application and manuscript preparation is also expected. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in industrial engineering, operations research, management science, economics, computer science, mathematics or other related fields. In particular, the ideal candidate would have experience with discrete event simulation and optimization methods. Review of applications will begin immediately until the position is filled. Applications must include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, two reference letters (one from your PhD advisor), and a relevant writing sample. Please direct any questions and/or complete applications via email to Andreea Badea (Andreea.Badea@usask.ca) or Sonia Vanderby (Sonia.Vanderby@usask.ca).
Note: Master's and PhD students also being sought. Please contact Sonia
