Assistant/Associate-Operations Research
The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto invites
applications for one tenure-stream faculty position in the area of Operations Research at the rank of
Assistant or Associate Professor starting July 1, 2015 or shortly thereafter.
Candidates must have a doctorate degree in operations research, industrial engineering, or a related
discipline by date of appointment or shortly thereafter.

undergraduate and graduate programs.
The successful candidate should have research expertise in one or more methodological areas as well
as in key application domains related to operations research. An emphasis will be placed on the
potential to strengthen the capacity of research and teaching of the existing faculty members in the
area of operations research within the program. The successful candidate must have an outstanding
academic and research record including refereed publications, and effective teaching ability. It is
preferred that the candidates have a undergraduate degree in engineering and are eligible for
registration as a Professional Engineer.
Duties will include undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, and departmental service.
Evidence of excellence in teaching and research are required. Salary is commensurate with
qualifications and experience.
