ORBEL'09 - The Belgian Conference on Operations Research

SOGESCI/BVWB, the Belgian Society for Operations Research invites you to ORBEL'09, the 23rd edition of the Belgian Conference on Operations Research.

ORBEL'09 will take place on February 5 and 6 in the heart of the historic city of Leuven, in the buildings of the Faculty of Business and Economics, Naamsestraat 69, Leuven. The conference dinner will take place in the renowned Faculty Club restaurant.

Invited speakers at ORBEL'09 are Martin Grötschel, who will speak on practicing combinatorial optimization today, and Maurice Queyranne, who will give a talk on Smith's ratio rule in scheduling.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION AND REGISTRATION

Abstracts of one page can be submitted through the conference website, www.orbel09.be. Both theoretical research and more practically oriented talks, e.g. on successful applications of Operations Research, are invited. This year, the ORTEC "OR in Industry Award" will be awarded to the best contribution describing an application of OR in practice. As usual, the ORBEL award will go to the best master thesis on OR.

On 4 February, the day prior to the conference, ILOG will organise a free-of-charge workshop on optimization. All conference participants are invited to register for this workshop on www.orbel09.be.

- Normal registration fee : €200
- Institutional registration : €150
- Student registration : €100
- Retired member registration : €175

All registration fees include the conference dinner and all lunches and coffee breaks. Moreover, a one-year membership of SOGESCI-BVWB and a one-year subscription to the international journal 4OR is included in the fee.
