Team Description
This internship will be hosted in Innovation and Research Division of Amadeus, in the team dedicated to Analysis and Researches. Scope of team covers identification of business opportunities in Travel Industry or improve the existing business by introducing new approaches and technologies. The team competencies cover a large scope such modelling, operation research and optimization, data science and machine learning.
Main responsibilities
Amadeus is the world leader in the travel industry supporting our customers at the different levels from strategic to operational areas. This internship falls in the strategic area where we help airlines defining theirs fare families offer. The fare family define the sell conditions of airline ticket such as the possibility to change or refund the ticket, included baggage or not and miles earned. In general airlines offer different fare families going from the more restrictive with lowest fare to the more flexible with highest fare. Amadeus is an important actors in the travel industry with a large data asset and the objective of the proposed internship is to investigate how the data available at Amadeus can be used to define the different fare families and set up theirs attributes, flexibility levels and prices. A good set up of the fare families should encourage the sell up (moving from low to high fare family) and maximize the airline revenue.
The first phase on the internship focus on data collection, cleaning, processing and matching to build data set on which the study will be conducted. The next step will be dedicated to statistical analysis and machine learning modelling to define the utility levels and the fare family bundling. A simulation framework will be defined and developed to evaluate the different bundling proposed.
This internship falls in the data science area, the candidate selected should have a good data science and machine learning basis (choice modelling, conjoint analysis, clustering…). Processing and manipulation of large volume of data skills are also required, Hadoop and spark is highly appreciated.
